Electronics Design Engineer - Camera Hardware

Tampere, Finland

Skydio is the leading US drone company and the world leader in autonomous flight, the key technology for the future of drones and aerial mobility. The Skydio team combines deep expertise in artificial intelligence, best-in-class hardware and software product development, operational excellence, and customer obsession to empower a broader, more diverse audience of drone users. From utility inspectors to first responders, soldiers in battlefield scenarios and beyond.

About the role:

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to architect, design, and refine the electrical systems that power our advanced embedded camera hardware. This includes state-of-the-art computing, sensing, and imaging components, all tightly integrated in a space, power, and thermally constrained product.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Own the electrical architecture and component selection for complex embedded, electro-mechanical, and optical systems.
  • Take ownership of the electrical design of supplier-made high-performance camera modules, including sensor interfaces, power delivery, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC control, as well as their integration into the broader device.
  • Lead system-level design of interconnect, power, RF, and sensing subsystems that interface with a mobile SoC platform.
  • Drive design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and scalability for high-quality mass production.
  • Develop and execute bring-up, validation, and debugging plans for system electronics.
  • Solve real-world electrical challenges from prototype through to production, including desense, reliability, and yield optimization.

What makes you a good fit:

  • Experience owning camera module electrical design, not just integrating off-the-shelf modules into larger systems.
  • Deep understanding of MIPI, USB, power rail design, and signal integrity for high-speed camera and sensor interfaces.
  • Proven experience shipping high-volume consumer electronics in a senior or architect-level role.
  • Strong foundation in mobile SoC design, high-speed digital, RF, and low-noise analog systems.
  • Hands-on debugging of EMI/EMC issues using lab tools and simulation.
  • Comfortable working at the intersection of EE, ME, and optics, solving cross-disciplinary challenges with rigor and creativity.
